Description / Abstract:
This standard for. Numerical Machine Control Perforated Tape is intended to serve as a guide in the coordination of .equipment design, to minimize the number of sizes and codes of perforated tape used, and to minimize the variety of perforated tape preparation equipment required by users of numerically controlled machines,
This standard applies wherever perforated tape is used for local (as opposed to remote) control of machines. It is not intended for information interchange.
Definitions of terms used in this standard are in accordance' with EIA Automation Bulletin No. 3C, "Glossary of Terms for Numerically Controlled Machines".
All perforated tape used shall be 1 inch wide, 8 track with physical dimensions in accordance with Electronic Industries Association Standard RS-227-A (One Inch Perforated Paper Tape).
Revisions to these standards will be proposed as technical progress warrants, or as future standards are adopted which conflict with these standards.
