This standard establishes the performance requirements for We control of the electromagnetic emission and susceptibility characteristim of electronic, ekeuical, and electromechanical equipment and subsystems designed or procured (or use in severe electromagnetic environments such as ships. aircraft, spacecraft, armored vehicles, etc. Such equipment and subsystems may be used independently or as an integral pan of other subsystems or systems.
Application
General applicability
The applicability of the emission and susceptibility requirements is dependent upon the types of equipment or subsystems and Weir intended installations as specified herein.
Tailoring of requirements
Application-specific environmental criteria may be derived from operational and engineering analyses on equipment or subsystems being procured for use in specific systems or platforms. When analyses reveal that the requirements in this standard are not appropriate for that procurement the requirements may be tailored and incorporated into the request-for-proposal. specification. contract, order, and so forth.
